Gita: The Art of Management

Today, the 5153th Gita Jayanti (birth anniversary of Gita) is being celebrated all over the world by the followers of Shrimad Bhagavad Gita. Gita Jayanti is celebrated every year on eleventh day of Margashirsh month of Hindu calendar. This day is called as Shukla Prakash Ekadashi.

Gita is considered as one of the greatest Hindu scriptures comprising 700 verses in 18 chapters, narrating the conversation that took place between lord Krishna and his follower Arjun.

When Arjun, the great warrior, became in the condition of disappointment and nervousness in battle field and he was not ready for battle, lord Krishna gave him the teachings of Gita which helped him to overcome his doubt and disappointment.

Gita is not just a religious manual as much as a manual of practice. It is a book which teaches us the method of management in life whenever one is confused and unable to take the right decision, he can get guidance from Gita.

5153th Birth Anniversary of Bhagavad Gita

Mahatma Gandhi says –

“When doubts haunt me, when disappointments stare me in the face, and I see not one ray of hope on the horizon, I turn to Bhagavad-Gita”.

Gita helps us to take right and fair decision. For example, it is not fair to tell a lie but for the sake of saving any innocent person it is not unfair to tell a lie. The violence is not good but if a doctor cuts any part of body of a patient it is not called unfair.

Gita helps us to view life in a new perspective. If we work hard but do not get return of our labour as desired by us or we lag behind others in the race of life, we feel ourselves dissatisfied and disappointed. For overcoming such type of circumstances Gita teaches us that we should do our duty only and not be impatient for return. The return of our doings will certainly be awarded to us.

We have to do management in every field of life, either in home, office or business. Gita teaches us the art of management. It gives us the theory of KARAMAYOGA means duty or management. When we are in the condition of doubt, disappointment and unable to take decision, Gita helps us to take right decision and thus we can learn the art of management from Gita.

Gita is one of the ancient logical scripture verifying the scientific assumptions. In Gita, lord Krishna tells Arjun that whatever exists in whole of Universe, it is only me. Now the atomic theory of modern science also verifies this fact saying that everything in this Universe is made of the only particle which is called atom.

The basic theory of Gita is NISHKAM KARMA means duty without desire. The welfare of whole of the human race is vested in this theory – “Duty without desire”.
